You will be picked up at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transferred to your hotel in Moshi town. Meet your head guide for a comprehensive safety briefing and equipment check for crater camping. Missing gear can be rented today.

Lemosho Gate
Day 1: Drive to Lemosho Gate – Hike to Mti Mkubwa Camp
Distance: 7 km / 4.3 mi | Trekking Time: Approx. 4 hours | Elevation: Lemosho Trailhead → Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650 m / 8,694 ft)
Drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate for registration. Continue via 4WD vehicle to the Lemosho trailhead. Begin trekking through ancient rainforest, watching for wildlife like Colobus monkeys on your way to Big Tree Camp.

Altitude Acclimatization Tip:
● Abstain from alcohol and excess caffeine.
● Drink at least 4 liters of water daily in small, frequent sips.
● Take Diamox as recommended by your physician.
● Report any altitude symptoms immediately to your mountain guide.
Shira Plateau
Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp
Distance: 8 km / 5 mi | Trekking Time: 5–6 hours | Elevation: Mti Mkubwa (2,650 m) → Shira 1 Camp (3,610 m / 11,844 ft)
Ascend out of the rainforest canopy into giant heather and moorland zones. Cross rolling ridges onto the expansive Shira Plateau to reach Shira 1 Camp.

Shira 2 Camp
Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp

Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Trek over barren scree slopes up to Barafu High Camp. Spend the rest of the day resting, hydrating, and preparing your mountain gear for tomorrow's ascent up to the crater.

Day 7: Barafu Camp to Crater Camp

Ascend early morning along steep scree to Stella Point on Kibo's rim. Instead of rushing to descend, continue across the lunar landscape into the crater floor. Set up camp near the ancient Furtwängler Glacier and explore the impressive Ash Pit.

Uhuru Peak Summit
