Day 1: Drive to Marangu Gate – Trek to Mandara Hut

Drive from Moshi to Marangu Gate for park registration. Trek through a dense, pristine tropical rainforest rich with ancient foliage and playful Blue and Colobus monkeys. Reach Mandara Hut in the afternoon and optionally take a short side walk to Maundi Crater for views of the border with Kenya.

Celebrate, capture photos, and descend back to Kibo Hut for lunch, then down to Horombo Hut for dinner and overnight rest.
